Since I retired, time has been there, hanging around and needing to be filled. Work organized my mind and my day; now, it is up to me. Never a slacker, I manage to over-organize my time and don’t waste it.
Reading has been my passion and my friend since I was a young child. As an adult, I have regarded it not as a “waste of time” but as a leisure activity. As a pastime when I worked, I relegated it to my right-before activity. As a retiree with some OCD, I still do. It is a sad realization that I have not moved it from the end of the day to an afternoon break. Making it an important part of my day would be a significant leisure time.
