Names can be fluid in the teenage years. Usually the nickname from a toddler age has long since disappeared. My only adult nickname was Hewie, acquired during my college years. A boyfriend/friend coined it because my last name was Hewitt. I liked it and in our social set, it stuck. Through the years, we all moved on with our lives and some of us passed away. However, he does call periodically to talk his politics and update me on his life. The first words out of his mouth are always, “How you doing Hewie?”
