Going out in the real world entails dealing with people, shoppers, drivers, store clerks, and parking. I used to be conscious of time and the use of it. While I still list-make and value time, I am able to step back and ease into most life situations. So many people are rushing around and making efforts to get their life tasks completed.
SInce I am retired I have the gift of being able to step back and let folks go ahead of me if we arrive simultaneously in any line or space access. It makes me smile as I say, “No, you go ahead, I’m retired.” I can remember my Saturdays, filled with many errands, and stops. I look at these GenZers and Millennials and know if all goes well for them, they will have this gift.
