Which Generation Are You?

  • The Greatest Generation (born 1901–1927) This term was popularized by Tom Brokaw in his book of the same name. They came of age during the Great Depression and World War II.
  • The Silent Generation (born 1928–1945) Traditionalists are known as the “silent generation” because children of this era were expected to be seen and not heard. They’re those who were born between 1927 and 1946
  • Baby Boomers (born 1946–1964) As this generation came to maturity, there was a specific rhetoric and social movement, a higher standard of living, and educational levels.
  • Generation X (born 1965–1980) It describes a group of an unknown and undefined quality, and is a reflection of their desire not to be categorized.
  • Generation Y Millennials (born 1981–1995) This is the group approaching the turn of the century.
  • Generation Z (born 1996–2010) The name Generation Z is a reference to the fact that it is the second generation after Generation X, continuing the alphabetical sequence from Generation Y (Millennials).
  • Generation Alpha (born 2011–2025) This is the first generation born entirely in the new century.
  • Generation Beta (born 2025 – 2039) Beta describes a period of experimentation and the push of boundaries.
