California Living: Highlights and Challenges to Consider

California

Eureka (I Have Found It)

Moving here to warm weather has been a life gift. I had lived here in the 70s and forgotten the appeal of summer wear almost year-round. I moved back to the East in 1978 to take care of my parents. In 2011, I retired and moved to the ocean. Slowly, the small resort became overpopulated with college students and others with little regard for the traffic and crowds, along with Jeep parades, Corvette weekend, festivals, fishing tournaments, parades, and on and on.

There are many issues with living here, including high taxes, and insurances are almost unobtainable. But the produce is delicious and varied, although also very expensive. The views of the mountains and the ocean are inspiring. People are leaving, but it is likely for reduced housing costs and to access jobs. Tariffs and ICE have impacted the economy, and time will tell.

I will remain here until I am physically not on earth. There are many options in life, especially for us traveling folks. Here is the end.
