Cooking is a great retirement hobby. Cooking healthy is a life style choice. One of the challenges is cooking fried food and not impacting your health. We have several foods of choice that are fried, including: potato chips, tortilla chips, sweet potato fries, french fried potatoes. As an alternative to the mess of frying and the dangerous cholesterol issues, we decided to try an air fryer. We chose the Philips fryer. We tried fresh and frozen sweet potato fries. The fresh came out a bit soggy. Then we tried the frozen Oreida Sweet Potato fries. We checked online and even on the Philips website did not get any helpful information. We did the usual experiment about how to prepare and settled on this as the best approach. Cook frozen sweet potato fries at 360 for 5 minutes. Turn them and then cook an additional 3 minutes at 360. The fries were crisp and delicious. Cooking healthy food for folks with less mess is the goal 🙂
I got the air fryer because I don’t have an oven and I really want to eat seeet potato frys.
Not impressed so far I followed recipe and it said to cook at 360 for 10 min then shake and cook for another 10 they were burnt I’m outside and super soggy
I like it for somethings. I did the sweet potato fries in small batches and I think that helped. I have made package small bite foods and do the same way. We travel a lot and I have not brought it in the RV due to some space limitations. I think I would like to try it is this setting to avoid using the propane.
