The Wind

The wind has taken over…three days of unrelenting gusts to 45 mph and what is euphemistically called a “windy day on the desert floor!”

Living at the ocean had breezy days. Heavy winds occurred when there was a nor’easter, which was not all that frequent. Here, multiple warm, windy days can occur, often without warning. Usually, these winds are associated with a front, moving from west to east, scooting through the mountain passes, and creating winds and dust so thick roads are closed due to visibility. Opening a window means days of dusting and vacuuming to remove the sand and grit.

Just for fun, I researched wind songs to buoy my spirits: Blowing in the Wind, Dust in the Wind, Wind of Change, Wind Beneath My Wings, The Wind Cries Mary, and Against the Wind.
