The Visit
This was a great place to visit. The Hangar is so vast that even during the holiday period it seemed roomy and doable for everyone, including the very short line for the simulated shuttle flight ride ($7). There are IMAX films show daily and there is a cost as well. There is a McDonalds at the front entrance and there is a Museum store with lots of goodies. Young children can run around without obstacles. The aisle between exhibits is about 20 feet wide. Many planes are hanging from the ceiling. Guides are available and the information desk is mid-hangar with knowledgeable docents. I was particularly interested in seeing a B-24 or B-25 since I am just finishing up Unbroken and those planes are a major part of the story.
The Space Shuttle Discovery is there, as well as many other historical missiles, flight memorabilia, and rockets from many eras.
