As I rise each day I drag myself from sleep reaching for the newness of the day and my “to be done” list, referred to years ago as my “to do” list which was entirely aspirational as I worked usually ten hours a day, had three children, and took care of my parents. Now with the rapid passage of time, slipping rotationally around the clock and the sun, I live by a list that is to be completed by the day, not bound by the mandatory hours and activities of work, children, and my now deceased parents. With a rapid pace I gaily mark the box next to each item as surely as I used to check off my meetings, appointments, and file of mail to be completed by the end of the day.
How life changes, some for the better, some with a tinge of sadness for times that are over.
